The Zayed Award for Human Fraternity's film series, Heartbeat of Humanity, has clinched victory in the Documentary category at the 30th Annual Webby Awards, recognized globally as a hallmark of digital excellence.

Dubbed by The New York Times as the “Internet’s top honor,” the Webby Awards commend extraordinary achievements across various platforms including websites, applications, and social media.

The Heartbeat of Humanity series not only secured the Webby Award conferred by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences but also the People’s Voice Award, determined by public votes. This year, the voting saw participation from over 4 million individuals worldwide.

Competing against more than 13,000 submissions, the project earned a place as one of five finalists in the Documentary category, joining the ranks of prior winners like National Geographic and Netflix.

His Excellency Mohamed Abdelsalam, Secretary-General of the award, remarked that this recognition underscores the vital role of storytelling in promoting humanitarian values globally. He emphasized that the series aligns with the award’s mission to foster unity, coexistence, and human fraternity across diverse cultures.

Produced by the Abu Dhabi-based creative studio People, the films spotlight the remarkable contributions of the award’s honourees from 2025 and 2026.

Key figures highlighted include Mia Amor Mottley, World Central Kitchen, young innovator Heman Bekele, the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement, Taawon, and education advocate Zarqa Yaftali from Afghanistan.

Tim Elliott, CEO of People, shared that this accolade reflects both industry respect and a profound connection with audiences worldwide, commending the team’s dedication to portraying these stories authentically.

The award ceremony is set to occur in New York City on May 11, 2026. Since its inception in 1996, the Webby Awards have celebrated innovation, with a panel comprising over 3,000 leaders from the digital domain.
