FIFA has officially revealed a list of broadcasters set to air the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking a pivotal time as global networks and streaming services gear up for this monumental sporting event. Jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the tournament kicks off on June 11, 2026, featuring an expanded format with 48 teams competing in 104 matches.
As reported by FIFA and various media outlets, more than 175 territories have secured broadcasting rights for the event. Notable networks include FOX Sports and Telemundo in the U.S., Bell Media in Canada, BBC and ITV in the U.K., SBS in Australia, and Globo in Brazil, along with numerous regional sports networks across Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America.
In the United States, FOX Sports is prepared to broadcast all 104 matches via its FOX and FS1 channels, with options also available on the FOX Sports App and FOX One streaming service. Reports indicate that many games will be presented in 4K resolution as part of an extensive coverage plan. In Spanish, coverage will be offered by NBCUniversal's Telemundo network.
Across Europe, BBC and ITV will once again split broadcasting duties for UK viewers, expected to share live match coverage, including key games for the home nation as well as the final match. Additional European broadcasters consist of ORF and ServusTV in Austria, DR and TV2 in Denmark, ČT and TV Nova in the Czech Republic, and HRT in Croatia.
In South America, the broadcasting landscape will include major media companies like Grupo Globo, CazéTV, SBT, and N Sports in Brazil. Argentina's coverage will be managed by Telefe and TV Pública, and in Chile, Chilevisión will handle the broadcasts. For Colombia, networks such as Caracol, RCN, and Win Sports will air the matches.
FIFA has affirmed its commitment to expanding partnerships in Asia, with agreements established with broadcasters like TVRI in Indonesia and Mediacorp in Singapore. However, the broadcast rights for India and China are still under negotiation as the tournament approaches. Reports indicate that FIFA rejected a previous bid from Reliance-Disney in India as it fell short of expectations. The deal with Chinese state broadcaster CCTV remains unsettled.
Experts underline that the unresolved broadcasting situation in India and China is crucial due to the vast audiences these countries represent for international football. While negotiations proceed, FIFA has kept details confidential at this stage.
This edition of the FIFA World Cup will be historic as it marks the first time three countries host the event and expands the team count from 32 to 48. FIFA anticipates unprecedented global viewership, thanks to the tournament’s broader format and heightened international engagement. Officials believe these broadcasting partnerships will enable more billions of fans to experience live coverage through traditional television, mobile apps, and various streaming services.
