In a significant step towards improving social well-being, the Family Care Authority (FCA) in Abu Dhabi has officially opened a new Service Centre and Halfway Homes facility in the Al Dhafra Region, aimed at broadening the scope of family support and rehabilitation services across the emirate.
This initiative focuses on making social and psychological assistance more accessible for everyone in the community, thereby reinforcing family stability and enhancing the overall welfare of residents in Al Dhafra.
The launch is in line with the objectives set out by the National Family Growth Agenda 2031, complementing the UAE's Year of Family 2026 initiative announced by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The ceremony saw the attendance of various dignitaries, including His Excellency Shamis Ali Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Department of Community Development; His Excellency Nasser Mohammed Al Mansouri, Undersecretary of the Ruler’s Representative Court in Al Dhafra; and Her Excellency Salama Ajlan Al Ameemi, Director General of the FCA.
Additional attendees comprised officials from Abu Dhabi Police, Al Dhafra Region Municipality, Social Contribution Authority – Ma’an, Al Dhafra Hospital, Mubadala, and ADNOC Group.
Her Excellency Salama Ajlan Al Ameemi emphasized that the newly inaugurated facilities exemplify the authority's dedication to delivering essential support services for families throughout Abu Dhabi, particularly in more isolated areas like Al Dhafra.
She expressed that the expansion is designed to bolster family unity and ensure every family member receives the necessary support and opportunities for a promising future.
The Service Centre will offer a range of integrated family and social services overseen by the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi, including counselling, guidance, support, empowerment initiatives, and supervised visitation services.
The Halfway Homes project is a vital component of FCA’s Integrated Care Model, aimed at assisting in the rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals recovering from addiction by providing them with a secure environment as they transition to independent living.
Through these innovative projects, the Family Care Authority aspires to foster social stability, enhance family resilience, and uplift the quality of life for residents in the Al Dhafra Region.
