The Sheikh Zayed Festival’s Higher Committee is gearing up for one of the most extraordinary New Year’s Eve celebrations in the UAE and beyond, taking place at Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi. This highly anticipated event promises an impressive amalgamation of record-setting entertainment, rich cultural heritage, and innovative technology as it welcomes 2026.
The festivities will feature a remarkable 62-minute firework extravaganza, marking one of the longest displays ever created. This performance aims to break five new Guinness World Records and will occur in five meticulously organized stages throughout the night. Starting at 8pm, the celebrations will culminate in a dazzling climax at midnight, with the Al Wathba skyline dramatically illuminated through advanced synchronization and launch technologies.
In addition to the fiery spectacle, attendees will experience the world’s largest drone show, with 6,500 drones taking to the sky in a single synchronized 20-minute performance. This drone display will introduce nine massive aerial formations to a global audience for the first time, fully harmonized with a digital countdown and the fireworks for an intensely immersive experience.
This year’s festival will engage numerous official sponsors, strategic partners, and participating nations, enhancing the celebration across dedicated areas within the festival grounds. Government organizations will offer interactive cultural experiences, while specialized partners will provide technical skills, and international performers will present cultural and musical showcases, solidifying the festival as a worldwide cultural platform.
Cultural activities will include traditional Emirati performances such as Al Ayala and Al Razfa, alongside international ensembles. Guests can also look forward to lively parades, music performances, and cultural displays throughout the night.
Families will have an array of options, including children’s activities at the Kids’ Theatre and attractions at the new Wonderland entertainment city, ensuring enjoyment for all ages.
To accommodate anticipated crowds, the committee has enhanced operational measures, which include added entry and exit points, widened pedestrian paths, improved safety and medical services, and specialized teams to facilitate crowd movement. Entry will close upon reaching maximum capacity to prioritize visitor safety.
The public is encouraged to follow the festival's official channels and purchase tickets in advance to guarantee access to services. These comprehensive preparations reflect the festival’s dedication to crafting one of the region’s unforgettable New Year celebrations, merging tradition, innovation, and premier entertainment in a lively environment.
