Durlabh Prasad Ki Dusri Shaadi Review: Gentle Concept, Predictable Execution

Post by : Saif Nasser

Durlabh Prasad Ki Dusri Shaadi is a film that carries a kind and gentle idea but struggles to make a lasting impact on viewers. Directed by Siddhant Raj Singh, the story revolves around widower Durlabh Prasad, played by veteran actor Sanjay Mishra. Durlabh’s son, Murli (Vyom Yadav), faces opposition from his girlfriend’s family because his household lacks a maternal figure. To help his son, Murli decides to find a new wife for his father. This leads them to Babita Singh, portrayed by Mahima Chaudhary.

While the concept is heartwarming, the film suffers from a predictable script and mechanical storytelling. The narrative moves slowly, and the conflicts never feel strong enough to engage the audience fully. The love story between Durlabh and Babita lacks emotional depth and chemistry, which further weakens the film’s core.

The humor is scattered and minimal, with only a few one-liners standing out. A notable moment is when Durlabh introduces Babita by saying, “Samajh le Mahima Choudhary hai,” which draws a chuckle but is not enough to sustain interest throughout.

On the positive side, the music by Anurag Saikia offers a pleasant experience. The soft, tuneful compositions add a layer of charm to the film that the writing struggles to provide.

Performances are good but constrained by the script. Sanjay Mishra, known for his versatility, is held back, and Mahima Chaudhary delivers a restrained performance similar to her previous work. Vyom Yadav’s efforts to make Murli endearing are genuine but not fully realized due to weak writing. The supporting cast performs adequately but does not leave a strong impression.

Overall, Durlabh Prasad Ki Dusri Shaadi is a well-intentioned film with a sweet story but falters in execution. It could have been a warm, engaging exploration of family and companionship, but predictable writing and lack of depth make it an underwhelming watch.
