Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy Helps 308 Startups Grow in 2025. Dubai has taken another big step in strengthening its position as a global hub for technology and innovation. The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, one of the three chambers working under Dubai Chambers, announced that it supported 308 high-potential digital startups in the first half of 2025. This marks a 39% increase compared to the same period last year when 221 companies were supported.

This strong growth highlights Dubai’s determination to build a thriving environment for digital businesses, entrepreneurs, and investors from all around the world.

Commitment to Digital Growth

His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, spoke about the importance of this achievement.

He explained that the chamber’s main goal is to create a fully integrated digital business environment that makes it easier for startups and digital companies to grow. This includes providing access to better digital infrastructure, creating supportive rules and regulations, and building a culture that encourages new ideas and entrepreneurship.

Omar Sultan Al Olama added:

  1. Dubai is working not only to attract startups but also to empower them.

  2. The city wants to help companies expand their businesses from Dubai to global markets.

  3. This effort will further cement Dubai’s role as a leading hub in the future of the global economy.

  4. He also noted that the achievements of the first half of 2025 prove that Dubai is moving with great momentum in its digital transformation journey.

Events and International Roadshows

The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy is not only supporting startups locally but also promoting Dubai globally.

Saeed Al Gergawi Vice President of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, explained that during the first six months of 2025, the chamber organised:

  • 10 events in Dubai to strengthen partnerships and support the digital economy.

  • 15 international roadshows to present Dubai as a competitive destination for startups.

These roadshows were designed to showcase the many benefits that Dubai offers to entrepreneurs. They highlighted Dubai’s modern infrastructure, its supportive government policies, and the wide range of opportunities available for tech companies to succeed.

The roadshows also featured pitch competitions where entrepreneurs presented their business ideas. Winners from each city were given the chance to attend Expand North Star 2025 in Dubai with full sponsorship.

Expand North Star 2025 – World’s Largest Startup Event

One of the biggest highlights of the year will be the Expand North Star 2025 exhibition which will be held in October. The event is organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre and hosted by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy.

Expand North Star is considered the world’s largest event for startups and investors and it serves as a platform for:

Startups to present their innovative ideas.

  • Entrepreneurs to connect with global investors.

  • Digital leaders to discuss the future of the digital economy.

  • At the event, another competition called the Supernova Challenge will take place. This is the largest startup pitch competition in the region giving entrepreneurs the chance to showcase their businesses on a global stage.

Why This Matters

The success of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy in supporting 308 startups in just half a year is a clear sign of the city’s growing influence in the technology and business world.

  • It shows that Dubai is attracting top talent and encouraging creativity.

  • It reflects the emirate’s strong commitment to being a leader in digital innovation.

  • It provides opportunities for startups not just to survive, but to grow and expand globally.

  • By providing startups with the tools they need — from business support and infrastructure to opportunities at world-class events — Dubai is positioning itself as a place where digital companies can thrive.

Looking Ahead

As 2025 continues, the focus will remain on further strengthening Dubai’s digital economy. With initiatives like international roadshows, startup competitions, and global exhibitions, Dubai is creating a cycle of opportunity that benefits both local entrepreneurs and international investors.

The 39% year-over-year growth in supported startups is only the beginning. Dubai’s vision is to become a world leader in digital business and with its strong strategy, global outreach, and commitment to innovation, the emirate is moving closer to that goal every day.

Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy’s work in the first half of 2025 has already made a powerful impact. By supporting 308 digital startups hosting events, and organising global roadshows, the chamber is giving entrepreneurs a chance to shine on both local and international stages.

Through innovation, strong leadership, and a clear vision for the future, Dubai is building a digital economy that will play a major role in shaping the global business landscape for years to come.
