Dhurandhar Box Office Success Shows Power of Strong Story and Star Cast

Post by : Saif Nasser

The action film Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, has made a powerful start at the worldwide box office. In just four days, the film has crossed the important ₹190 crore mark globally, surprising trade experts and proving that strong storytelling and star power still attract large audiences.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar was released in theatres last Friday. The film performed well over the opening weekend and showed solid strength even on its first Monday, which is considered a major test for any film’s long-term success.

According to the producers Jio Studios, the film earned ₹130.80 crore net in India in its first four days. On the opening day, it collected ₹28.60 crore. On Saturday, it earned ₹33.10 crore, and on Sunday it made ₹44.80 crore. On Monday, the film added another ₹24.30 crore to its total, showing strong audience support even on a working day.

The film also performed well overseas. As per trade website Sacnilk, Dhurandhar earned around ₹42 crore from international markets in the same time period. This brought the worldwide collection to more than ₹193 crore in just four days.

With these numbers, Dhurandhar has already crossed the lifetime box office collections of two other films released this year. Sikandar had a lifetime worldwide collection of ₹184.6 crore, while Thamma earned ₹187.59 crore. This achievement shows how quickly Dhurandhar has climbed the box office charts.

Now, the film has set its sights on the next major target, Raid 2, which has a worldwide collection of ₹237.46 crore. Since Dhurandhar passed the important Monday test, trade analysts believe the film has strong chances of reaching and possibly crossing that milestone in the coming days.

One of the key reasons for the film’s success is its strong cast. Besides Ranveer Singh in the lead role, the film stars Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. Each actor has added depth and power to the story, making the film more engaging for viewers.

The story of Dhurandhar is inspired by real-life events and focuses on a covert operation in Lyari, Pakistan. The mission shown in the film aims to dismantle a dangerous crime syndicate. Ranveer Singh plays the role of Hamza Ali Mazari, also known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, delivering a performance that has been appreciated by both fans and critics.

The film is written, directed, and co-produced by Aditya Dhar, with production support from Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar under the banners of Jio Studios and B62 Studios. The strong direction and tight screenplay have helped maintain audience interest throughout the film.

Adding to the excitement, a sequel titled Dhurandhar 2 has already been announced and is scheduled to release on March 19, 2026. The early success of the first part has raised expectations for the second chapter.

In conclusion, Dhurandhar has proven that good planning, strong performances, and an engaging story can create box office magic. Its early success is a clear sign that audiences are ready to support content-driven action films. If the current trend continues, the film could soon enter the list of the biggest hits of the year.
