Bollywood mourns the loss of its beloved actor Dharmendra, who departed on Monday, November 24, at the age of 89. He breathed his last at home after a health recovery earlier this month. Dharmendra is survived by his two wives, Prakash Kaur and renowned actress Hema Malini, alongside his six children, including stars Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol.

Outpourings of grief ripple across Bollywood. Director Karan Johar, who collaborated with Dharmendra on Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani, lauded him as a “legend of Indian cinema,” emphasizing his remarkable positivity and affection towards everyone he encountered. He expressed that the warmth of Dharmendra’s presence would be sorely missed.

Fellow actors Kareena Kapoor and Kiara Advani shared nostalgic photos and emotional tributes on Instagram. Director Madhur Bhandarkar described this moment as “the end of an era,” commending his lively personality and infectious humor.

Dharmendra starred in iconic films such as Sholay, Seeta Aur Geeta, Chupke Chupke, Mera Gaon Mera Desh, and Yaadon Ki Baraat, and gracefully transitioned to character roles later in his career with appearances in films like Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya and Johnny Gaddaar. His last cinematic venture, Ikkis, is anticipated to hit theaters next month.

Conclusion: Bollywood has lost a titan. Dharmendra’s impactful legacy will reverberate through generations.
