Controversy Erupts as Indian Woman's Voting Posts Go Viral

Post by : Mina Rahman

Following the viral image of a Brazilian woman tied to voter fraud accusations, an Indian individual has now found herself in a similar storm. Urrmi, as she identified herself on X, shared images of her inked finger, asserting that she participated in elections across two states.

Dual Posts, Dual States

One entry from May 13, 2024, depicts her casting her vote in Pune during the Lok Sabha elections, with the accompanying message: “Go Vote, Pune! Voted for development, voted for clean governance, voted for a Modi-fied India!”

Another post dated November 6, 2025, reads: “Voted for a Modi-fied India! Jaai ke Vote daali, Bihar!”

The revelation of these posts ignited discussions, with some political figures disseminating them to bolster claims of electoral misconduct. Numerous social media users interpreted the second post as having a sarcastic tone.

Urrmi Sets the Record Straight

In response to the viral attention on her November 6 entry, Urrmi clarified that she did not vote that day in Bihar. She stated: “This was purely motivational. I never claimed I voted today — I indicated I voted. Everyone knows it was in Maharashtra. So relax! Motivated enough? Now it's Bihar's turn. Go vote!!”

AAP Accuses BJP of Misconduct

The Aam Aadmi Party has leveled accusations against BJP figures for allegedly casting votes in both the Delhi and Bihar elections. Delhi BJP leaders Rakesh Sinha, Santosh Ojha, and Nagendra Kumar were specifically mentioned. Sinha defended himself, asserting that he lawfully transferred his vote from Delhi to Bihar and labeled the accusations as “groundless and ethically questionable.”

The Brazilian Model Incident

Previously, a photo of Larissa Nery, a Brazilian model, circulated claiming she voted 22 times at polling stations in Haryana under various aliases. Nery responded that the image was from her past, remarking that she was astounded to be depicted as an Indian voter.

Such incidents underline the heightened scrutiny of India's electoral framework and the amplification of voter fraud allegations via social media, regardless of their veracity or intent.
