Priyanka Chopra Enjoys Cherished Moments With Mahesh Babu's Family on Set

Post by : Mina Rahman

Recently, Priyanka Chopra graced a promotional event in Hyderabad for the film Varanasi, where she expressed her sincere appreciation towards Mahesh Babu and his family for their warm hospitality during filming. She specifically highlighted how Mahesh's wife, Namrata Shirodkar, and daughter, Sitara, made her feel completely at home throughout the project.

A fresh behind-the-scenes photo from the sets has emerged, further charming fans. The image was shared by Sitara on her Instagram Stories in honor of SS Karthikeya, son of renowned filmmaker SS Rajamouli, for his birthday. She wrote, “Happy birthday Karth anna,” while Karthikeya reposted it with a note of thanks. In the snapshot, Priyanka stands alongside her mother, while Namrata and Sitara flash smiles beside them, with Karthikeya completing the cheerful ensemble.

Just a day prior, Priyanka shared a playful video featuring her dancing with Karthikeya to AR Rahman’s iconic track “Urvashi Urvashi.” She affectionately referred to him as “the man who silently holds up the fort” while wishing him a happy birthday, expressing her happiness in sharing this journey with him.

The much-anticipated film Varanasi, directed by SS Rajamouli, unveiled its trailer during the same event, igniting tremendous excitement. Slated for release in January 2027, the film promises a visually stunning, time-travel-centric action adventure rich in mythological themes. The trailer begins with an asteroid disintegrating, with pieces landing in Varanasi, Antarctica, Africa, and other places. Its narrative spans centuries, borrowing elements from the Ramayana.

The trailer’s concluding visual left a significant impression: Mahesh Babu, portraying Rudhra, is depicted covered in blood, wielding a trident while riding a bull against an impressive backdrop of ancient temples. Priyanka Chopra takes on the role of Mandakini, with Prithviraj Sukumaran as the antagonist, Kumbha. With its grandeur, mythological richness, and an ensemble star cast, Varanasi is already positioning itself as one of the most awaited films of the decade.
