Agthia Academy Unveiled to Cultivate UAE's Food Sector Talent

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

Agthia Group has introduced the Agthia Academy, in collaboration with Bühler, creating a dedicated training hub to nurture Emirati talent in food production, baking, milling, and other operational sectors across the UAE.

This initiative seeks to equip entrepreneurs, industry professionals, and budding specialists with actionable insights and global best practices, driving enhanced quality of production, efficiency, and standards. Such measures play a key role in bolstering the UAE's long-term food security strategy through the cultivation of a proficient local workforce.

The unveiling coincides with Agthia Group’s appearance at the Make it in the Emirates 2026 exhibition, where its dedication to industry-specific training and workforce enhancement was emphasized. Agthia aims to elevate capabilities across the food value chain and facilitate sustainable sector growth through this academy.

Salmeen Alameri, Managing Director and CEO of Agthia Group, remarked that the academy exemplifies the firm's pledge to empower Emiratis, providing them with exceptional learning opportunities in food manufacturing.

He noted that the program integrates theoretical learning with hands-on application, enhancing participants' consistency and productivity, which in turn supports a more robust UAE food economy.

Heiko Feuring, President of Bühler for the Middle East, Africa, and India, stated that this partnership will grant participants access to state-of-the-art technologies, innovative practices, and direct industry experience. He remarked that the academy aims to produce skilled experts capable of fostering innovation and efficiency within the UAE's food landscape.

The academy will collaborate with key educational institutions in the UAE, such as the United Arab Emirates University, Zayed University, and Abu Dhabi Hospitality Academy – Les Roches. These alliances are designed to enhance academic curriculums, deliver industry-relevant training, and open up career pathways adhering to global food industry benchmarks.

The curriculum will feature classroom instruction, hands-on training, and international exposure via Agthia’s facilities in Abu Dhabi and Bühler’s training centers in Switzerland.

Through this pioneering initiative, Agthia Group is further solidifying Abu Dhabi's status as a vital hub for cutting-edge food manufacturing, innovation, and specialized education.
