AD Ports Group and Borouge Plc have officially sealed a partnership aimed at bolstering export resilience and enhancing operational efficiency within the UAE.
The agreement primarily addresses the potential establishment of an alternative international export hub situated on the East Coast of the UAE. This initiative is set to play a crucial role in Borouge’s long-term export strategy, reinforcing the robustness of the country’s logistics framework.
Working collaboratively, both firms intend to leverage AD Ports Group’s maritime connectivity and comprehensive port services offered at Fujairah Terminals, alongside other regional port facilities. They will also evaluate the viability of constructing dedicated infrastructure for polyolefins on the East Coast.
This partnership aims to alleviate load on congested maritime routes, thus enhancing vessel scheduling and shipping agility. Furthermore, the companies plan to liaise with shipping lines to investigate fresh export routes via Fujairah Terminals.
This initiative is poised to underpin stable and dependable export operations, facilitated by a varied network of ports and logistical mechanisms, thereby solidifying the UAE’s status as a key global industrial and logistics hub.
Saif Al Mazrouei, CEO of the Ports Cluster at AD Ports Group, expressed optimism about the collaboration with Borouge, aiming to explore avenues that promote industrial exports and enhance regional and global trade connectivity.
Hazeem Sultan Al Suwaidi, CEO of Borouge Plc, noted that this partnership signifies a significant leap in advancing the company’s logistical capacities, aligning with its strategic growth objectives. He further stated that this collaboration will cultivate a more diverse and flexible export framework, ensuring supply chain stability for its international customers.
Borouge Plc, being the leading exporter through AD Ports Group, finds this newly signed agreement a strengthening force in their enduring alliance that commenced back in 2001.
