Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA) has rolled out a fully digital “Expression of Interest” service, giving citizens unprecedented control in selecting government housing. Through the Iskan Abu Dhabi app, eligible residents can now explore all current and upcoming housing projects across the emirate, filtering options by location, unit size, and completion date.
The initiative, part of ADHA’s mission to strengthen family stability and social cohesion, allows beneficiaries to review available projects, compare them, and discuss options with their families before submitting an expression of interest. Notifications via SMS and the app ensure citizens stay informed about projects aligned with their financial eligibility.
ADHA is currently developing roughly 28,000 residential units across 15 projects. In the first phase, applicants for housing purchase loans and deferred repayment loans, as well as housing grant beneficiaries, can view government and public-private partnership projects. Citizens with residential land grants may also convert their entitlement to ready housing loans or grants, enabling participation in the digital platform.
The service prioritises citizens with active applications, factoring in seniority, social and housing conditions, family size, and current living arrangements. Additional projects will be introduced over time, expanding eligibility to more residents.
The second phase, yet to launch, will accommodate citizens granted land plots with approved construction loans. These residents will have the option to convert to ready home purchase loans, subject to completion of their ongoing applications.
Initially, the expression of interest will open for residents in Al Ain, with Abu Dhabi city and Al Dhafra to follow. ADHA emphasizes planning with relatives for adjacent homes, allowing families to choose neighbouring units within the same project.
This move reinforces ADHA’s strategy for digital transformation, transparent governance, and streamlined housing services. By offering citizens greater choice and flexibility, the initiative marks a significant step in modernising government housing in Abu Dhabi.
