Abu Dhabi has introduced a significant AED55 billion public-private partnership (PPP) initiative aimed at rolling out 24 essential infrastructure projects across the emirate in 2026 and 2027. This initiative is a collaborative effort between the Abu Dhabi Investment Office and the Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre, designed to bolster the emirate’s long-term infrastructure aspirations while drawing both local and foreign investments.
This extensive program paves the way for substantial engagement from private sector entities in Abu Dhabi’s infrastructure advancement. These projects are set to promote economic growth, entice international firms to establish a presence in Abu Dhabi, and strengthen local supply chains and industrial segments.
The pipeline encompasses initiatives across transport, infrastructure, and social development sectors.
In the transport domain, Abu Dhabi intends to embark on 11 major road projects, with an investment of AED35 billion. These projects will encompass over 300 kilometers of new and upgraded roadways, along with tunnels, intersections, and enhancements to the overall road network, significantly improving connectivity throughout the emirate.
An additional AED11 billion has been earmarked for five infrastructure-related projects, focusing on critical areas such as dams, water storage, flood control measures, stormwater system upgrades, and urban landscaping to boost sustainability and public infrastructure.
Moreover, the social infrastructure sector is set to benefit from AED9 billion allocated to eight projects, which will include sports facilities, specialized healthcare centers, schools, and university campuses. These developments aim to enhance community services and foster long-term livability in Abu Dhabi.
Officials emphasized that this new pipeline signifies a crucial evolution in Abu Dhabi’s infrastructure delivery strategy, reinforced by strong partnerships with the private sector and meticulously structured project planning.
This announcement precedes the forthcoming Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit 2026, where the emirate will showcase its visionary infrastructure and development plans.
