The Creative Media Authority (CMA) in Abu Dhabi has signed a new agreement with NG9 Group, a strong team that includes Nirvana Holding, Gewan Holding, and 9Yards Group. This is a big step toward growing Abu Dhabi’s media and film industry.
As part of this new partnership, they will make two feature films and a 10-episode TV series. These projects will cost around AED 55 million, which is about 15 million US dollars. All of these will be shared with audiences around the world.
Filming will start in September. Local film crews will work on these projects, and Emirati talent—both in front of the camera and behind the scenes—will be part of the team. This matches the goal of the Abu Dhabi Film Commission to highlight Emirati culture and talent.
CMA will support this project in many ways. They will help with finding great filming locations, running training programs for young talent, holding auditions to find actors, and offering money-back support to help reduce production costs.
NG9 Group will also offer special prices for things like hotels, car rentals, flights, and even private vehicles such as yachts and jets for film production teams that are supported by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission.
Khalid Khouri, a leader at CMA, said this partnership will help Abu Dhabi grow as one of the top creative cities in the world. He also shared that working with NG9 Group will bring more investment and job opportunities to the local economy.
Alaa Al Ali, CEO of NG9 Holding, said that their team is excited to support the UAE’s economy through creative projects and local partnerships. He believes this project will help young filmmakers in Abu Dhabi find good career chances.
Sameer Al Jaberi, who heads the Abu Dhabi Film Commission, said this deal fits with their goal of bringing more international film makers to Abu Dhabi. He also said it will help show off the area’s beautiful locations, skilled local workers, and rich culture through movies and TV shows.
Rami Tmaish, the General Manager of 9Yards Pictures, said he is happy about the new partnership. He believes it will give a global spotlight to Emirati creativity.
He added that they are already working to find talented Emiratis in acting, writing, and directing, so they can help grow a strong media industry in the UAE. This project will make Emirati stories more modern and appealing for audiences around the world.
