In a significant milestone for the aviation sector, 77 cadets celebrated a crucial moment in their flying careers during the Emirates Flight Training Academy's sixth graduation ceremony held in Dubai.
This ceremony underlined the Academy's pivotal contribution to nurturing future pilots for Emirates and the broader aviation industry. With this latest group, EFTA's total graduates have surpassed 300, many of whom are now in the skies or engaged in advanced training on Emirates’ wide-body aircraft.
In attendance were high-ranking officials from the Emirates Group, graduates’ families, friends, faculty, and fellow cadets, emphasizing the airline's commitment to superior pilot training at a time when global aviation is witnessing a surge in demand for skilled crews.
Among the 77 graduates, 52 were part of the UAE National Pilot Cadet Programme, with the remaining 25 hailing from 15 nations. This program is the UAE's largest effort to cultivate Emirati pilots, providing full sponsorship and a direct route from training to the cockpit of Emirates aircraft after completing type rating.
EFTA implements a holistic training approach that combines theoretical learning, advanced flight technology, and leadership skills. The cadets evolve from classroom knowledge to practical flying, ensuring their competencies closely align with Emirates' operational standards and safety protocols.
Recognition was given to five exceptional cadets for their remarkable performance this year, with one cadet awarded for exemplary devotion and consistency throughout their training.
Located in Dubai South, the Academy features a residential campus that facilitates focused training. Cadets reside on-site in private studio apartments and benefit from sports and recreational amenities, allowing them to concentrate entirely on their rigorous schedules without the concern of daily commuting.
Spanning the size of 200 football fields, the EFTA campus boasts modern classrooms, full-motion flight simulators, a dedicated air traffic control tower, and its own runway. Training is further enhanced by custom-developed software in partnership with Boeing and a fleet of 32 advanced training aircraft.
Established in 2017, the Emirates Flight Training Academy is vital in creating a consistent influx of well-trained pilots, bolstering Dubai’s status as a global aviation hub, and supporting Emirates Airline's long-term growth ambitions.
