The Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi (DCD) wrapped up the inaugural phase of its “Where Life Pulses” initiative, which took place from April 10 to 12, 2026, at Al Aamerah Park located in Al Ain.
This three-day community event was a resounding success, bringing together over 22,000 visitors and showcasing its effectiveness in fostering social interactions and reinforcing community ties. The initiative was aimed at uniting residents through engaging, all-age-inclusive activities.
Children and young entrepreneurs from Al Aamerah and surrounding areas significantly contributed, supported by their families, as they launched small projects that provided valuable hands-on experience, boosting their confidence and promoting a spirit of entrepreneurship.
The event included diverse offerings such as eight educational workshops, five interactive community games, and six food and beverage trucks, creating a lively, family-centric atmosphere that encouraged collaboration, creativity, and a sense of belonging.
Mohammed Hilal Al Balooshi, Executive Director at DCD’s Community Engagement and Social Empowerment Sector, remarked that the program embodies an innovative strategy for enhancing social cohesion and empowering youth in local neighborhoods. He underscored the vital contribution of families in nurturing children’s growth and upholding community values.
Fatema Abdulrahman Al Hosani, Director of DCD’s Social Cohesion Sector, noted that the initiative offers youths practical avenues for entrepreneurship and community involvement, while also solidifying families’ roles as vital players in developmental efforts.
As part of DCD’s grander vision, the “Where Life Pulses” initiative aims to transform public spaces into vibrant community hubs that stimulate creativity, improve quality of life, and cultivate social bonds.
This initiative was carried out in partnership with several key organizations, including the Department of Municipalities and Transport – Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, and the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, all contributing to venue support, outreach, participation, and funding.
