Deadly 30-Vehicle Pile-Up in Colorado Amid ‘Brown Out’ Conditions

A deadly chain-reaction crash involving about 30 vehicles took place on a major highway in Colorado after powerful winds created dangerous “brown-out” conditions and near-zero visibility. Authorities confirmed that at least four people lost their lives and many others were injured in the incident.

The pile-up happened along Interstate 25 near the Pueblo area when strong wind gusts lifted large amounts of dust and dirt into the air. Drivers suddenly lost visibility, and several vehicles were unable to stop in time, leading to a series of collisions.
