Massive Celebration Planned for Philippine Independence Day in UAE

The "Emirates Loves Philippines" initiative is set to organize a major community event at the Dubai World Trade Centre on June 7, commemorating the 128th anniversary of Philippine Independence.

This vibrant gathering is expected to draw around 40,000 Filipinos residing in the UAE, as well as international visitors eager to indulge in Filipino culture and traditions.

Dignitaries such as Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, alongside Alfonso Ferdinand A. Ver, Philippine Ambassador to the UAE, and Ambrosio Brian F. Enciso III, Philippine Consul General in Dubai, will grace the occasion. Additionally, representatives from Philippine Business Councils and various Filipino educational institutions will be present.

This celebration not only honors the enduring friendship between the UAE and the Philippines but also aims to foster deeper cultural and social bonds. It will showcase the significant contributions of the Filipino community towards the UAE's development.

A diverse array of cultural, artistic, and heritage programming is planned, featuring popular actress and singer Arci Muñoz, along with P-pop sensation groups such as 1st.One, G22, and ALAMAT.

Attendees will be treated to traditional presentations, including the Sagala pageant, which highlights crucial Filipino customs. A vibrant carnival parade showcasing traditional Filipino costumes will further honor the country's cultural richness.

The festival will also include a food village offering beloved Filipino dishes. Families can enjoy engaging entertainment zones with interactive activities, go-kart racing, contests, and live performances throughout the day.

This event underscores the UAE’s dedication to fostering tolerance, coexistence, and cultural diversity, reflecting the strengthening relationship between the UAE and the Philippines, with both nations expanding collaboration in various sectors.

Ultimately, the celebration acknowledges the pivotal role of the Filipino community in the UAE, reinforcing the deep-rooted and cordial ties shared between the two nations.
