The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has firmly stated its dedication to maintaining neutrality and ensuring regional peace, confirming that it will not permit its territory, airspace, or waters to be utilized for any military actions targeting Iran.
In a recent announcement via social media, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that no logistical support would be extended for military engagement against Iran. The ministry reiterated that fostering dialogue, promoting de-escalation, observing sovereignty, and complying with international law represent the most effective means to tackle ongoing regional challenges.
Tensions in the region have escalated following remarks from US President Donald Trump regarding a military buildup approaching Iran, although he conveyed a desire to avoid conflict. Trump cautioned that the US might resort to military intervention should Iran persist in what he termed violent actions against civilians.
The US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, accompanied by three warships, has made its way to the Middle East, heightening fears of imminent airstrikes. The US military has also confirmed the dispatch of F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jets and increased movements of military cargo aircraft to the area.
Following the commencement of protests in Iran last month, which began peacefully but escalated into violence, authorities report widespread unrest across various cities. Activist groups estimate that at least 5,973 individuals have died and over 41,800 have been arrested, contrasting starkly with Iran’s official statistics of 3,117 fatalities.
Both the United States and Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, have publicly acknowledged their operational involvement in this situation. Iranian officials characterized the ongoing turmoil as part of a protracted strife following a 12-day conflict with Israel in June.
