US President Donald Trump has said that Iran’s leadership wants to negotiate with the United States as large anti-government protests continue across the country. At the same time, he issued a strong warning, saying the US may take action even before any meeting takes place. His comments have added fresh tension to an already unstable situation in the Middle East.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said Iran’s leaders had contacted him and were seeking talks. According to him, a possible meeting is being planned. However, he made it clear that diplomacy may not stop immediate action. Trump said the US is closely watching events inside Iran and is considering strong options.
Iran has seen widespread protests in recent weeks, with people in many cities demonstrating against the government. These protests are part of growing public anger over political control, economic hardship, and restrictions on daily life. Trump claimed that some protesters have been killed, either during clashes or in crowd stampedes. He described Iran’s rulers as violent and said they maintain control through force.
The US President said he is receiving frequent updates about the situation, sometimes every hour. He added that the American military is fully involved in monitoring developments. While Trump refused to give details about possible military plans, he warned that any attack by Iran or its allies would bring a very harsh response. He said the US would strike Iran at levels it has never seen before.
Trump also reminded reporters of past US actions against Iran-linked figures, pointing to earlier military strikes as proof that his warnings should be taken seriously. He did not confirm whether the US has coordinated its response with allies, nor did he give a timeline for any decision.
These statements come at a sensitive time. Iran is facing internal unrest, while relations with the US remain deeply strained. Any military move could increase violence in the region and affect global stability, including oil markets and international security.
At the same time, Trump’s remarks show a mix of pressure and openness to talks. While he says Iran wants to negotiate, his warning suggests that talks alone may not be enough to calm tensions. The coming days will be critical as the world watches whether diplomacy or force will shape the next phase of US-Iran relations.
