To Lam Advocates for Enhanced National Solidarity

Post by : Shakul

In a significant keynote address at the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, President and General Secretary To Lam emphasized the pivotal role of national solidarity for Vietnam's growth and stability. The Congress commenced on May 12 at the National Convention Center in Hanoi, welcoming senior leaders, government officials, delegates, intellectuals, and members of the Vietnamese diaspora to deliberate on the nation’s vision for the 2026–2031 term.

During his speech, To Lam underscored that the country is on the verge of a transformative phase, propelled by the successful culmination of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party. He urged a shift towards prosperity, innovation, democratic practices, and active civic engagement, ensuring that citizen welfare remains at the core of all reforms and policies.

He reinforced the notion that the Vietnam Fatherland Front must act as a vital link between the government and the populace. To Lam called for significant reforms in the organization's operational approach, advocating for enhanced social oversight, improved public engagement, and optimized digital channels for voicing citizen concerns. He stressed the urgency of fostering transparency, safeguarding public interests, and bolstering accountability in state mechanisms.

Addressing the challenges posed by swift economic and technological advancements, To Lam emphasized the necessity of social unity. He pointed out that the rapid evolution of Vietnamese society, marked by urbanization and evolving social structures, demands more modern outreach strategies from the Front, including engaging programs and tech-driven communication systems.

To Lam commended the recent initiatives by the Fatherland Front and other social organizations in assisting underprivileged communities, disaster-affected populations, and vulnerable groups nationwide. He heralded accomplishments like the elimination of makeshift housing, disaster relief for flood victims, and welfare campaigns aimed at uplifting millions, reflecting Vietnam's enduring traditions of unity and collective responsibility.

Moreover, he cautioned that the organization must confront its shortcomings, such as bureaucratic inefficiencies and poor digital adaptation. He urged that officials should remain in close touch with citizens, moving beyond paperwork and reports, and instead prioritize genuine listening and swift responses to public concerns to rebuild trust between the government and the people.

The Congress is anticipated to conclude with significant resolutions and strategic frameworks guiding the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the next five years, aiming to enhance national solidarity, improve governance, and uphold Vietnam's aspirations for sustainable development, economic progress, and international integration by 2045.
