Thailand Launches Thai Chuay Thai Plus 60/40 Scheme for Businesses

Post by : Shakul

The Thai government has officially initiated the registration process for the “Thai Chuay Thai Plus 60/40” economic stimulus initiative, calling on small and medium enterprises to enroll by the deadline of July 31, 2026.

This program is designed to enhance local economic activity by empowering consumers and providing support to community businesses through a government-subsidized payment framework.

According to recent reports from the Prime Minister’s Office, participation has been robust, with more than 946,000 businesses actively engaged since applications opened on June 1.

As of June 3, figures indicate that over 848,000 established businesses and nearly 97,000 startups have successfully registered, while more than 130,000 applications remain pending approval and several thousand are undergoing verification.

Deputy government spokesperson Lalida Periswiwatana noted the scheme aims to bolster sales for restaurants, small storefronts, community vendors, and service providers by facilitating liquidity through digital transaction methods.

Participants in the program can process payments via the “Thung Ngern” application, allowing direct transactions with approved vendors while the government subsidizes a portion of costs under the 60/40 model.

The spending phase will be active from June 1 until September 30, 2026, with daily transaction hours set from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

Businesses interested in joining require a Krung Thai Bank account and must register through the Krungthai Money Bag application platform, subsequently submitting the necessary documentation for verification.

Approved merchants will receive confirmation via SMS and will officially enter the system, thereby being able to accept digital payments and monitor transactions effectively.

Officials highlighted that this program aligns with Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul's broader strategy to boost domestic consumption, empower small businesses, and circulate financial resources within localities.

Authorities have urged eligible businesses that haven’t registered yet to do so before the approaching deadline to take advantage of this economic stimulus program and aid in nationwide recovery efforts.
