Tadweer Group has broadened its innovative waste management initiative, Tajmee’e, into the northern and north-eastern segments of Abu Dhabi. This development is a pivotal enhancement of the existing system, fortifying the emirate’s ecological framework.
The expanded service now encompasses critical locations such as Khalifa City, Shakhbout City, Yas Island, Al Rahba, Al Shahama, Al Samha, Ghantoot, and the vicinity of Abu Dhabi Airport.
Tajmee’e operates as a thoroughly integrated waste management framework. It incorporates AI-driven route optimization, real-time monitoring managed from a central command centre, and in-vehicle safety measures to oversee driver alertness. Additionally, it gathers data to fine-tune collection routes according to actual needs, thus enhancing operational efficacy and dependability as further expansions occur.
Etienne Petit, CEO of Tadweer Group, emphasized that robust waste collection forms the cornerstone of a successful circular economy. He noted that enhancing collection quality and efficiency at the grassroots level is crucial for minimizing landfill contributions. This expansion is in alignment with Abu Dhabi’s ambition to redirect 80% of waste from landfills by 2031.
The new offerings encompass residential, commercial, and large-item waste collections. Over 100 specialized vehicles have been introduced, supported by a workforce of more than 270 skilled personnel. The team has collectively completed 1,509 hours of technical training and 1,360 hours focused on health, safety, and environmental practices. The project also recorded a zero Lost Time Injury rate during its initial phase.
Ashly Alex, CEO of Tajmee’e, stated that the system is designed to deliver optimal performance despite its expansion. He underscored that the operational framework allows for comprehensive oversight, control, and rapid responses across the network, ensuring consistent quality of service.
Following this expansion, Tajmee’e now caters to 29 areas in northern Abu Dhabi, with further growth anticipated as Tadweer endeavors to create a comprehensive waste management network throughout the emirate.
This expansion is vital to reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s circular economy. As the initial link in the waste management chain, efficient collection underpins recycling, processing, and energy recovery across the region.
