Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, along with the President of the University of Kalba, witnessed an important signing event for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the university and NAMA Women Advancement on Monday at the university's headquarters.
Dr Najwa Al Hosani, Chancellor of the University of Kalba, and Maryam Al Hammadi, Director-General of NAMA Women Advancement, were the signatories of the agreement.
The MoU is designed to establish a robust collaboration framework between both institutions in interdisciplinary areas like scientific research, training and development, and effective media communication. The partnership emphasizes fostering knowledge exchange and achieving mutual objectives, particularly in enhancing women's empowerment.
In terms of research, both parties are committed to jointly exchanging and publishing relevant scientific studies. They will also execute surveys focused on women's needs, facilitate interaction with relevant community groups, and provide ethical approvals for ongoing research projects. Additionally, the university will assess research findings and reports shared by NAMA at various conferences, both at the local and international levels.
On the front of training and development, the agreement entails crafting tailored training content, deploying expert trainers, and acknowledging select programs put forth by NAMA. It also encourages organizing targeted training initiatives for female students, sharing training agendas, facilitating field visits, and transferring expertise between both institutions. Faculty members from the university will lend their expertise to enrich the training sessions.
With regards to media communication, the MoU aims to amplify the reach of NAMA’s initiatives to students, faculty, and alumni. The two organizations will also interchange media resources through their platforms and utilize shared facilities to host various events, activities, and programs.
This collaborative effort signifies a unified dedication to advancing women's development through avenues of education, research, and professional training.
