New Housing Development Unveiled in Sharjah's Al Ashkel Area

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has unveiled plans for a new residential project in the Jabal Al Ashkel region, in proximity to the Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled.

During a recent appearance on the programme Direct Line, His Highness detailed that the proposed neighbourhood will offer hundreds of housing units specifically for UAE citizens, to be named Al Ashkel Neighbourhood.

He reassured the community that roads in this area will be fully paved and linked to Al Rafisah. In contrast to the coastal residential designs, homes in this mountainous region will boast unique architectural styles.

Addressing residents of Khorfakkan, the Ruler confirmed there are ample residential land options available, countering fears that plots in the Al Harray region had been depleted.

Currently, 270 homes are under construction across two phases, including 120 units in Al Mudeife, where land has been allocated to the Department of Housing.

His Highness added that previously allotted plots in Al Harray aimed at commercial license holders are now under the municipality's wing, with an anticipated construction timeframe of about two years.

Moreover, similar housing initiatives are underway in Kalba along the ring road, commencing from Al Ghayl and moving towards Al Saaf and Al Tareef, with construction already initiated in the Al Dahiyat neighbourhood, adhering to the same guidelines.
