Qatar Engages in Arab League Discussions Ahead of EU Summit in Jordan

On Wednesday, the State of Qatar attended a coordination meeting comprising permanent representatives at the League of Arab States. This gathering took place at the General Secretariat headquarters to set the stage for the sixth Arab-European ministerial meeting, scheduled in Jordan from June 22 to 23.

The Qatari delegation was headed by HE Sheikh Jassim bin Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad Al-Thani, Ambassador of Qatar to Egypt and the Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States.

During the discussions, representatives from Arab member states were informed about the latest updates and preparations for the impending Arab-European ministerial meeting. A key focus was on enhancing coordination and striving for unified efforts among Arab nations.

The attendees also examined a draft declaration anticipated to be approved at the upcoming ministerial session. This declaration is set to tackle the escalating regional challenges, particularly the recent Iranian strikes that pose significant dangers to Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Jordan, deemed as a critical concern for both region and international security.

The sixth Arab-European ministerial meeting underscores the unwavering commitment of both Arab states and European Union nations to foster dialogue and bolster collaboration across diverse sectors.
