Miss Jamaica's Road to Recovery After Miss Universe 2025 Stage Incident

Post by : Mina Rahman

The Miss Universe Organisation (MUO) has issued a positive health update regarding Dr. Gabrielle Henry, who represented Jamaica at Miss Universe 2025. The organisation confirms that she is making good progress and will soon be returning home, where she will continue her recovery under full medical supervision.

Gabrielle faced a terrifying incident during the preliminary competition on November 19, 2025, when she fell through an opening in the stage. This mishap resulted in an intracranial haemorrhage, loss of consciousness, facial fractures, and other injuries.

Controversy erupted when Miss Haiti, Melissa Sapini, accused the MUO of placing blame on Gabrielle for the accident. However, the MUO has categorically rejected these claims, asserting that Gabrielle is not responsible for the fall. In a joint statement with Gabrielle’s family, the MUO confirmed that she has been receiving specialised medical attention and will be moved to a hospital for additional treatment shortly.

Furthermore, the organisation reassured that they are covering all of her medical expenses, including accommodation and living costs for her family while she recuperates in Thailand.

Gabrielle Henry shared her eagerness to return home, expressing, “I am eagerly looking forward to my return home and to seeing everyone in the near future.”

This incident marks yet another moment in the Miss Universe pageant’s history that has drawn intense public scrutiny, highlighting the risks contestants navigate on stage.
