Mahira Khan refutes facelift claims, says makeup error caused altered look

Post by : Mina Rahman

Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has dismissed circulating reports that she underwent a facelift, clarifying that the differences in her appearance at a Lahore promotional event were the result of a makeup error, not cosmetic surgery.

The actor appeared with Fawad Khan to promote their film Neelofar, and observers quickly noted subtle changes to her facial features. That prompted online speculation that Mahira had received a surgical enhancement.

Mahira, however, said the look came from an eyebrow-lifting makeup technique that did not go as planned. Her makeup artist attempted a popular "snatched look"—aimed at lifting the brows and defining the jaw—but the application produced unexpected results.

Mahira addresses facelift speculation.

After days of online conjecture, Mahira tackled the rumours directly in a light-hearted Instagram Story. With a laugh, she asked,

“I have recently come back from Lahore, and I’m hearing that people are saying I have gone through an eyebrow lift. Should I show you my eyebrow-lifting talent?”

In the clip, she demonstrated her natural eyebrow movement to show the effect was cosmetic and temporary—created by makeup.

Her straightforward reply to critics

When a user on social media questioned the change, Mahira replied personally, outlining what had happened behind the scenes. She wrote:

“Thank you for the love, but why would I do a facelift right now (not that I’m judging anyone who would or has). My makeup artist did some hair-lift things to give a ‘snatched look’ — in two parts. And it wasn’t done right. Anyhow… lesson learnt. Moving on. Lots of love.”

Her candid response and sense of humour won approval from followers, who praised her openness and grounded demeanour.

The ‘snatched look’ has gained traction among celebrities and influencers, aiming for lifted eyes, pronounced cheekbones and a sharper jawline—features often associated with a youthful, contoured appearance.

While some people pursue surgical routes to achieve this aesthetic, beauty professionals note comparable results can be achieved through non-invasive approaches such as facial exercises, sculpting massages or skin-tightening procedures.
