Celebs Applaud India’s Record Chase to Reach World Cup Final

India’s women’s cricket team scripted history on Thursday by chasing down a mammoth total to defeat defending champions Australia in the Women’s World Cup semi-final at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium. The five-wicket victory sealed India’s spot in the grand final, setting off waves of celebration across the country and in Bollywood.

Stars Hail Team India’s Grit and Glory

From Kareena Kapoor Khan to Varun Dhawan, Suniel Shetty, Rishab Shetty, Manoj Bajpayee, and Arjun Rampal — celebrities across the film industry praised the women’s team for their determination and skill.

Kareena Kapoor took to Instagram to share her excitement, writing, “And like I said, girls can do it all. With grit and determination... Well done, Team India... on the finals, my girls.” Sharing a picture of centurion Jemimah Rodrigues, she added, “Take a bow, fantabulous Jemimah.”

Varun Dhawan too joined the celebrations, posting a picture of Jemimah and calling her “My hero.”
Rishab Shetty lauded the team’s unity and fighting spirit, posting, “Our women’s team storms into the World Cup Final with a thrilling win over Australia! A stunning display of determination and brilliance. Jemimah, that century was pure class!”

Messages of Pride from Bollywood

Veteran actor Suniel Shetty praised the record chase, writing, “339 against Australia!!! That was a big total to chase. But the belief was bigger. Jemimah’s unbeaten ton and India’s fearless chase — pure magic! Team India into the finals with fire and belief.”

Actor Arjun Rampal shared an emotional message, saying, “Not every day you witness a chase like this. What a great moment for women’s cricket. What emotion. What an epic. Salute our girls — you are champions already. Take a bow, Jemimah Rodrigues. Prayers for the finals have already begun — more than a billion hearts you girls have won.”

Manoj Bajpayee also congratulated the team for their courage and composure under pressure, calling the win “a proud moment for every Indian.”

With Team India’s incredible performance and celebrity cheers pouring in, anticipation for the Women’s World Cup final has never been higher. The nation now looks forward to another historic triumph from the Women in Blue.
