The Italian Trade Agency (ITA) is proudly celebrating 12 years in a row of joining WETEX — the Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition — held in Dubai. This event is organized every year by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). ITA’s goal is to help Italian companies show their new ideas and technologies to the world.

At WETEX 2025, which will take place from 30 September to 2 October 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, ITA will lead a large Italian pavilion. This area will cover 600 square metres and will have 50 Italian companies, including new start-ups with exciting ideas. This strong presence shows how serious Italy is about helping its businesses grow and work with partners in the UAE and the Middle East.

Italy’s trade relationship with the UAE is getting stronger. In 2023, the two countries became official strategic partners. By 2024, their non-oil trade reached $14.1 billion, which is a 21% increase from the year before. They are working closely in areas like energy, sustainability, artificial intelligence, space, and international development.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, who is the CEO of DEWA and the person behind WETEX, said:
“The UAE and Italy have strong ties and a shared dream for global progress. Italian companies have trusted WETEX for 12 years to show their new ideas, make deals, find business opportunities in the UAE, and build long-term partnerships.”

HE Lorenzo Fanara, the Italian Ambassador to the UAE, added:
“WETEX is a great place to show Italy’s latest technologies in renewable energy, water solutions, and environmental ideas. With 50 companies joining this year, our goal is to create new partnerships and support Italian small businesses in this region. This event helps both Italy and the UAE move toward a greener future.”

Mr. Valerio Soldani, the Italian Trade Commissioner in Dubai, said:
“WETEX is a big part of our work to promote Italian innovation around the world. We help our companies build strong business links and support clean energy efforts that will last for years.”

Over the years, WETEX has become a very important event for Italian companies. It gives them a way to meet government leaders and big businesses through special B2B and B2G meetings. These meetings have helped many Italian companies start successful partnerships in the UAE and the wider Gulf region (GCC).

For companies working in solar energy, water systems, and green technology, WETEX is more than just an event — it’s a chance to shine. Italian businesses can show their best products, learn from others, meet decision-makers, and grow their reach in new markets.

The Italian Trade Agency encourages all Italian companies to use WETEX 2025 as a chance to connect with the Middle East and support the region’s progress toward clean and smart energy solutions.
