Enrique Iglesias sets Mumbai ablaze with electrifying concert

Post by : Mina Rahman

It was a night to remember as Grammy Award-winning global icon Enrique Iglesias made his much-awaited debut concert in Mumbai, setting the stage on fire at the MMRDA Grounds, Bandra-Kurla Complex. The Latin pop sensation drew a roaring crowd of more than 25,000 fans, turning the venue into a sea of lights, cheers, and dance.

Bollywood joins the celebration

Adding to the glamour, several Bollywood celebrities attended the concert, including Malaika Arora, Rakul Preet Singh with husband Jackky Bhagnani, Sonal Chauhan, Vidya Balan, Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla, Meiyang Chang, Rahul Vaidya, Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina Bonnerjee, Elnaaz Norouzi, and social media personality Orry.

A viral video from the event showed Malaika Arora dancing and singing along to the beats, while Rakul and Sonal were seen grooving to the rhythm, beaming with excitement.

Enrique’s timeless hits light up Mumbai

The 50-year-old pop legend, dressed in his trademark all-black outfit and cap, greeted the ecstatic crowd with a heartfelt, “Namaste, Mumbai! Raise your hands!” as he kicked off his 90-minute set.

He took fans on a nostalgic journey with a medley of his biggest hits, including “Súbeme La Radio,” “Be With You,” “Heartbeat,” “Hero,” “Tonight (I’m Lovin’ You),” “Bailamos,” and the ever-popular “Bailando.”

“It feels amazing to be back here. Thank you… thank you so much. I came here first in 2004,” Enrique said, his voice nearly drowned out by fans singing along in perfect harmony.

A night of glamour and music

The concert doubled as a mini red carpet, with photographers capturing Bollywood’s finest letting loose. Malaika Arora looked effortlessly chic, vibing to the beats, while Rakul and Jackky were spotted sharing light-hearted moments with friends.

Celebrities and fans flooded social media with clips and stories praising Enrique’s magnetic performance. One fan posted, “Enrique still knows how to own the stage — what a night!”

Minor hiccups, major memories

Despite being an unforgettable evening, the event wasn’t without its challenges. Some fans complained of heavy traffic congestion near the venue and noted that a few expected tracks were missing from the setlist.

“He didn’t sing them all — I’m a bit disappointed,” shared one concertgoer, while another called the post-concert traffic “a complete mess.”

Yet, these minor inconveniences couldn’t dampen the spirit of the night. The concert ended on a high note with Enrique performing “I Like It” — his global hit featuring Pitbull — followed by a dazzling fireworks display that lit up the Mumbai sky.

A long-awaited return

This concert marked Enrique Iglesias’ third visit to India, following his earlier performances in the early 2000s and again in 2012. For his devoted Indian fans, the 2025 Mumbai show was not just a performance — it was a celebration of music, memories, and the enduring magic of a global superstar who still knows how to make hearts race.
