CMA's Inaugural Winter Media Camp Enriches Al Ain

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

The Creative Media Authority (CMA) has proudly wrapped up the inaugural edition of its Winter Media Camp in the Al Ain Region, a significant endeavor aimed at fostering young creative talent throughout the emirate.

Taking place from December 8 to 12 at the Qattara Arts Centre, the camp was conducted in Arabic, specifically tailored to immerse children in various aspects of the creative media landscape. This enriching programme provided a dynamic learning environment that spurred creativity, imagination, and hands-on engagement through age-appropriate activities.

The Al Ain camp attracted 31 children, aged 8 to 12, equipping them with early insights into storytelling, visual arts, and interactive media disciplines. With guided workshops, the young participants developed essential skills while discovering their creative abilities in a nurturing and engaging atmosphere.

In collaboration with several partners, together with Creative Lab, CMA's talent development division, a range of activities was organized, including a storytelling workshop led by Sandstorm Studio, a short story writing course by Abu Dhabi Media Network – Majid, as well as creative sessions at Qattara Arts Centre focused on Arabic calligraphy, drawing, and bubble painting.

The Winter Media Camp is part of CMA’s ongoing commitment to cultivate creative talent in Abu Dhabi from an early age. This fifth edition of the programme, expanding into Al Ain for the first time in 2025, underscores CMA’s dedication to broadening access to creative education resources throughout the emirate and inspiring the forthcoming generation to view creative industries as viable career pathways.
