DXB News Network Premieres Ctrl+Alt+Wim, a Satirical Series

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

DXB News Network (DNN) has launched Ctrl+Alt+Wim, its first satirical micro-series produced in-house, now available on the DXB News Network YouTube channel. The series premiered today at 5:00 PM (Dubai Time), presenting a unique take on short-form digital storytelling.

About the Series

Ctrl+Alt+Wim is intentionally absurd, abstract, and non-linear, challenging conventional formats and inviting the audience to actively engage with the content. Episodes are 45 seconds long, produced entirely in a green-screen studio, and enhanced with layered visual effects.

Starring Wim Hoste
The series features Wim Hoste, the Belgian-born international performer known as “The Dubai Bond”. Hoste has entertained audiences globally for over 25 years, performing at Expo 2020, for brands such as Hilton, Visa, DP World, and at premium venues like Palazzo Versace, Belcanto at Dubai Opera, and Sucre DIFC.

For the first time, Hoste adopts a deadpan screen persona, performing multiple roles himself, creating a surreal contrast between calm delivery and illogical, nonsensical scenarios.

Series Features

  • One-man performance with all roles by Hoste

  • No guest appearances, no laugh track

  • Focus on visual satire, post-internet storytelling, and performance art

  • Designed for repeated viewing and engagement, not passive scrolling

Production Details

  • Concept, Script & Direction: Dr. Amrinder Singh

  • Lead Talent: Wim Hoste

  • Produced by: Preet Singh

  • Production & Post-Production: DXB News Network (In-house)
