Dubai Unveils Unified Medical Reporting for People of Determination

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

In a proactive move, Dubai has rolled out the ‘Unified Medical Report for People of Determination’, a significant step forward in medical evaluation and service provision. Initiated by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), this new system standardizes diagnosis and classification procedures.

This initiative falls under the ‘People of Determination Services Team’ as part of the ‘City Makers’ program, spearheaded by the Executive Council of Dubai. It aims to foster collaboration among vital government and community entities to enhance service delivery.

Key participants in this effort include the Dubai Health Authority, Community Development Authority (CDA), Dubai Police, Dubai Autism Centre, and the Dubai Club for People of Determination, all committed to ensuring cohesive support for People of Determination and their families.

Unified Medical System

The primary goal is to establish a coherent and dependable medical reporting framework. This initiative will standardize the diagnosis and classification of medical conditions, thus enhancing accuracy and promoting fairness in evaluations.

Digital Integration

Supported by a sophisticated digital platform that integrates with NABIDH, Dubai's health information exchange system, the initiative facilitates the secure sharing of patient information between healthcare providers.

The medical reports will adhere to global benchmarks, such as the ICD-10 classification system, promoting consistency and precision across the board.

Simplified and Expedited Process

The process is entirely digital, commencing with patient assessments at authorized healthcare facilities. Upon diagnosis, a comprehensive medical report is generated, leading to the issuance of the SANAD card.

This digital journey streamlines the process, enabling People of Determination to quickly access essential government and social services.

Advantages of the Initiative

  • Accelerated service access

  • Ensured fairness and accuracy in medical assessments

  • Enhanced collaboration among government agencies

  • Data-driven decision-making improvements

  • More robust digital healthcare framework

Vision of the Government

Officials emphasize that the initiative aligns with Dubai’s digital transformation goals and the ‘One Government’ strategy, promoting interconnected systems across all departments.

It also reflects the Dubai Social Agenda 33's focus on enhancing quality of life, fostering inclusivity, and guaranteeing equal opportunities for all citizens.

Dr. Atef Abdullateef Saleh from DHA noted that the project will enhance medical evaluations, diminish inconsistencies, and elevate the overall experience for users.

Echoing this, Maitha Al Shamsi from CDA mentioned that the initiative will simplify, hasten, and broaden access to services, thereby enriching the lives of People of Determination.
