Under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister, the emirate will welcome the 50th International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) World Finals from November 15 to 20, 2026.

This significant event underscores Dubai’s evolving role as a foremost center for digital innovation and technological expertise, while reinforcing its dedication to cultivating future-ready skills among its workforce.

The announcement was made at a press event hosted at Dubai Chambers, with key figures including Saeed Al Gergawi, Vice President of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, and Dr. William B. Poucher, President, CEO, and Board Chair of the ICPC Foundation.

Official Host: Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy

The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, one of the three integral chambers of Dubai Chambers, is the official host for the 50th ICPC World Finals. Renowned as the largest coding competition globally, ICPC engages 63,000 students, supported by 12,000 coaches from 3,350 universities spanning 93 nations every year.

After multiple regional contests and eight ICPC Regional Championships, over 130 elite university teams will vie for the title at the 2026 ICPC World Championship in Dubai.

Significant global technology sponsors, such as Huawei, JetBrains, Google, OpenAI, Jane Street, Jump Trading, and Citadel among others, support the contest.

Investment in Knowledge Ecosystem

His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, highlighted that hosting the ICPC World Finals aligns with Dubai's vision of creating a future-ready digital ecosystem, promoting innovation and skilled human capital.

This event represents a strategic investment in the knowledge economy, complements the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, and enhances Dubai’s status as a global leader in digital technology.

A Five-Day Showcase of Talent

The ICPC World Finals serve as the climax of the global season, bringing together premier student teams for five intense days of challenges culminating in a final five-hour coding contest. Each team of three will tackle complex algorithmic challenges that assess their technical acumen, collaboration, speed, and creativity.

Fostering Global Talent

Launched in 1970, the ICPC has become one of the most influential avenues for nurturing talent in the technology industry, with over 500,000 alumni now contributing to leading global tech firms and research organizations.

Dr. William B. Poucher referred to the 50th edition as a “Golden Anniversary,” emphasizing its role in bringing forth the next generation of essential talent that will influence the future of the global digital landscape.

Inspiration for Future Generations

The event aims to motivate students across the UAE and beyond to engage in computer science, encouraging local universities to enhance their participation in national and regional initiatives. It will also present significant opportunities for businesses to connect with emerging global talent while fostering long-term partnerships within Dubai’s innovation ecosystem.
