Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh used his recent Brisbane performance to reaffirm a message of unity and compassion in the face of external pressure. Posting a concert clip on Instagram, the star addressed the audience with a calm, inclusive appeal.
In the footage, Diljit encouraged people to prioritise love. He invoked the Sikh concept of ‘Ik Onkar’ to underline the fundamental oneness of existence, stressing that all life is interconnected and of equal worth.
He reflected on life’s cycle, saying he recognises his origin in the earth and eventual return to it, which shapes his desire to wish goodwill for everyone — including those who may criticise or provoke him — a remark that drew warm applause.
Discussing faith and intent, Diljit questioned the need for overt manifestations, suggesting instead that individuals should hold sincere intentions in their hearts and trust a higher power to bring them to fruition.
The shared clip also captures tender concert moments: close interactions with fans, energetic performances and pauses where the artist spoke about hope, reconciliation and togetherness.
The post followed media reports that the US-based pro-Khalistan group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), led by Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, had issued a warning concerning his scheduled Australian concert on November 1. The organisation cited a "contentious exchange" connected to veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan.
The dispute traces back to Diljit’s appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati 17, during which he touched Amitabh Bachchan’s feet as a sign of respect. SFJ’s leader publicly characterised that gesture as an affront to survivors and families affected by the 1984 anti-Sikh violence.
Rather than engage directly with the accusations, Diljit has reiterated a stance of peace and mutual respect, choosing to amplify messages of solidarity instead of escalating the controversy. Online supporters have commended his measured response.
Footage from the Brisbane show has since circulated widely, with viewers praising the artist for using his platform to champion compassion over conflict and reinforcing his reputation as a respected figure in the entertainment world.
