In a significant humanitarian effort, the Community Development Authority (CDA) of Dubai has unveiled a range of initiatives designed to enrich the lives of over 11,700 residents in celebration of Eid Al Adha. This program aligns with the UAE’s commitment to enhancing family support and community welfare as part of the national “Year of Family” initiative.
The highlight of these initiatives is the “Eidiya” project, generously backed by various government and charitable organizations. In total, the program has an estimated value of AED 27.7 million, which provides crucial financial aid to families, minors, fishermen, and other vulnerable demographics registered with the CDA.
Prominent partners contributing to this initiative include Union Coop, the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, Dubai Land Department, and several charitable foundations such as Beit Al Khair Society, Dar Al Ber Society, and Tarahum Charity Foundation.
Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, the CDA’s Director General, remarked that these efforts mirror the core values of compassion, generosity, and community cooperation in the UAE. She emphasized the indispensable nature of community partnerships in fostering a robust social fabric and enhancing the quality of life in Dubai.
The program is particularly aimed at assisting families and individuals receiving financial support from the CDA, including minors and fishermen. It also features prepaid support cards supplied to fishermen through Union Coop. Moreover, the CDA organized an interactive co-design session aimed at understanding fishermen's needs to enhance ongoing support.
Additionally, the Beit Al Khair Society has contributed AED 5 million through its “Jood” platform to facilitate aid for families and vulnerable groups via the Community Development Fund.
In collaboration with the UAE Food Bank under Dubai Municipality, the CDA is distributing 250 fruit baskets during Eid Al Adha, ensuring direct delivery to beneficiaries’ homes. This outreach supports 65 participants in the “Waleef” initiative and 185 elderly residents at Al Barsha Majlis, promoting sustainable humanitarian efforts and improving access to community services.
Through these initiatives, the CDA reinforces its dedication to supporting families, fostering community ties, and highlighting the values of generosity and social solidarity throughout Dubai.
