Bigg Boss, a show known for intense emotional moments and interpersonal strain, now operates with a reinforced mental health framework to protect participants throughout the season.
Producer Rishi Negi confirmed that each hopeful undergoes thorough medical checks, including psychological assessments, before being cleared to enter the house. "There have been times when medical professionals advised against certain individuals entering the house, and we have respected that," Negi noted.
Negi added that the production maintains on-call medical coverage for the duration of the series: a qualified doctor and a psychiatrist are available at all hours to respond to crises or distress among housemates.
He stressed that determinations about whether a contestant should remain in the programme are based exclusively on clinical judgement. "Whether a contestant continues or is pulled out of the house is a decision strictly made by medical experts, not by the channel, producers, or even the host," he said.
Negi also highlighted the programme's broad audience and cultural reach, saying content choices are made with ethical considerations in mind. The intention, he said, is not to manufacture conflict or exploit vulnerability but to balance viewer engagement with the welfare of both participants and audiences.
