The Ajman Municipality and Planning Department has announced the issuance of 778 building completion certificates in the first quarter of 2026, representing a significant 26.9% increase compared to the 613 certificates issued in the same timeframe the previous year.
This remarkable growth exemplifies the ongoing expansion within Ajman's construction industry, aligning with the emirate’s broader aspirations for comprehensive urban development as outlined in Ajman Vision 2030.
Dr. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Infrastructure Development Sector, remarked that this increase is indicative of robust activity in the construction realm. He further emphasized that Ajman is solidifying its reputation as an attractive hub for investment and residency, supported by its advanced infrastructure and conducive regulatory environment.
He assured that completion certificates are issued only after thorough verification that all projects comply with building requirements, safety regulations, and technical specifications, conducted in collaboration with relevant authorities to ensure sustainable and high-quality developments.
Engineer Ahmed Sultan Al Nuaimi, Director of the Buildings Department, highlighted ongoing enhancements in their systems aimed at streamlining processes to offer faster and more efficient services. New application channels have been established to expedite approvals and boost customer satisfaction.
He also explained that a completion certificate is granted only after construction meets the approved plans and all engineering standards are fulfilled. He acknowledged the crucial contribution of contractors and consultancy firms in upholding quality benchmarks.
Data indicates that the eastern sector obtained the highest number of completion certificates in Q1 2026, while both the central sector and city center witnessed several high-quality projects, demonstrating a balanced urban growth across Ajman.
