Soha Ali Khan Reflects on Family Gatherings and Her Family’s Legacy

Post by : Mina Rahman

Actor Soha Ali Khan offered a considered look at the dynamics of her family meals, sharing personal anecdotes that highlight both humour and heritage. She recalled moments connected to her father, the late Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, and her mother, Sharmila Tagore, and noted the family’s deep ties to film and cricket. Her extended family includes figures such as Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, Ibrahim Ali Khan, Amrita Singh and Sara Ali Khan.

Entertaining Family Dinners

Soha described the lively atmosphere around the dinner table and named those who most often lift the mood.

She said that when actors gather, conversations naturally turn inward and self-referential, but that certain relatives stand out for their comic timing. In her account, Kareena Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu frequently become the centre of attention, bringing energy and laughter to family evenings.

She linked this ease with humour to shared upbringing and influences: time spent abroad, exposure to different cultures and a tendency toward self-deprecating wit — traits she attributed in part to family background and early experiences.

Reflections on Siblings and Childhood

Soha also reflected on the different paths taken by her siblings and how education shaped them. She noted that Saif attended Winchester for school and made distinctive choices about his education and career, while she pursued university before focusing on her own ambitions. Saba, she observed, gravitated toward the arts, studying at Delhi College of Art and training in jewellery design, preferring creative work behind the scenes to on-camera roles.

Soha, daughter of cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and actor Sharmila Tagore, married actor Kunal Kemmu on January 25, 2015. The couple have one daughter, Inaaya Naumi Kemmu, who was born on September 29, 2017.
