Israel Launches Night Operation in Southern Lebanon, Targets Hezbollah Positions

Post by : Saif Nasser

Israel launched a military operation during the night in southern Lebanon, focusing on positions linked to the armed group Hezbollah. According to Israeli officials, the strikes were aimed at locations used to plan or carry out attacks near the border. The operation included air strikes and artillery fire and was described as a response to security threats coming from across the frontier.

The Israeli military said the action was taken to prevent future attacks and to weaken Hezbollah’s ability to operate close to Israeli territory. Explosions were reported in several areas of southern Lebanon, and residents said they heard loud aircraft sounds and heavy shelling during the night.

Hezbollah has not released full details, but sources close to the group said some of its positions were hit. Lebanese local officials reported damage in certain areas, though information about casualties remains unclear.

Tensions between Israel and Hezbollah have remained high for months, with frequent exchanges of fire along the border. Many civilians living in border villages on both sides have been forced to stay alert or move to safer areas due to the ongoing violence.

International observers have repeatedly called for restraint, warning that continued military actions could lead to a wider conflict in the region. Despite these calls, clashes have continued, raising concerns about stability in southern Lebanon and northern Israel.
