Hezbollah Rocket & Drone Attack Triggers Sirens Across Israel

Air raid sirens were triggered across several areas of Israel after Hezbollah launched a series of rockets and drones from southern Lebanon toward Israeli territory. The attack heightened tensions in an already volatile Middle East conflict that now involves multiple countries and armed groups.

According to reports, the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah said it carried out missile and drone strikes targeting several Israeli military facilities and command centers in both northern and central Israel. Targets reportedly included key military bases, air defense systems, and drone control sites.

Residents in northern Israel reported hearing warning sirens and explosions as Israel’s air defense systems attempted to intercept incoming projectiles. The Israeli military confirmed that several launches were detected from Lebanon and that air raid alarms were activated to alert civilians to take shelter.

Hezbollah stated that the attacks were aimed at military installations such as the Israeli army’s Northern Command headquarters near Safed, drone control bases, and other defense facilities. The group also claimed it used swarms of drones along with missiles in an effort to overwhelm Israeli defense systems.

The rocket and drone barrage is part of a wider regional escalation that began after the United States and Israel launched major strikes on Iranian military and leadership targets. Since then, Iran-aligned groups across the region, including Hezbollah in Lebanon, have increased attacks on Israeli and U.S. positions.

In response to the launches, Israel has carried out retaliatory airstrikes on Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon and other areas believed to host the group’s command centers and weapons storage sites. These counter-attacks have caused significant damage and casualties, further increasing fears that the fighting could expand into a broader regional war.

Security experts warn that the involvement of Hezbollah—one of the most heavily armed non-state groups in the Middle East—could dramatically intensify the conflict between Israel and Iran and potentially draw more countries into the crisis.

As tensions continue to rise, authorities in Israel have urged residents in affected areas to remain near shelters and follow emergency instructions whenever sirens sound.
