The EMS Conference 2025 recently took place in Abu Dhabi, uniting distinguished emergency medical professionals, specialists, and innovators globally. Over three days, participants shared cutting-edge practices, technologies, and improvements in ambulance services.
The event culminated in a closing ceremony where Brigadier Salem Abdullah bin Barak Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, honoured outstanding paramedics and teams for their exceptional efforts. Awards highlighted those involved in crucial CPR operations, top response rate achievers, and individuals excelling in field missions and emergency preparedness.
The conference also underscored international collaboration and scientific advancements. Speakers, the Scientific Committee, trainers, and judges of the Ambulance Challenge were acknowledged for their role in fostering innovation and excellence.
A significant highlight was the Ambulance Challenge, marking the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa, with 12 international teams demonstrating their emergency response skills. The UAE National Ambulance team secured first place, followed by Australia and Qatar, illustrating a pivotal step in regional EMS training and cooperation.
Col Dr Maitha Mohammed Al Darei, Director of Ambulance Department and Scientific Committee Chair, emphasised the conference's impact on facilitating international knowledge exchange, embracing modern technology and AI, and harmonising protocols to enhance the quality of emergency care. Additionally, the event focused on the well-being of frontline workers, integrating response organisations, and nurturing local talent to bolster Abu Dhabi’s status as a leading centre for ambulance and emergency services.
Concluding the conference was a resounding commitment to driving innovation, fostering international partnerships, and enhancing life-saving expertise, affirming Abu Dhabi’s vision for efficient, advanced emergency medical services.
