This Saturday marks the opening of the UAE National MMA Championship 5 at UAE University in Al Ain. The UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation has confirmed that all preparations are finalized for this two-day competition, a significant event drawing both youth and adult martial artists from diverse clubs.

Approximately 300 competitors from various clubs and academies throughout the UAE are set to participate, reflecting a burgeoning interest in mixed martial arts among younger athletes. Organizers anticipate a fiercely competitive atmosphere, with numerous skilled participants eager to showcase their talents.

The championship comprises several age groups. The competition will begin with Youth D, for participants aged 10–11, followed by Youth C for ages 12–13, Youth B for ages 14–15, and Youth A for ages 16–17. The adults' division, for those aged 18 and older, will cap off the event. This categorization facilitates competition amongst peers, allowing skill enhancement at every level.

Obaid Al Ketbi, a Youth A competitor from ADMA Academy, expressed his enthusiasm about this opportunity, noting that it acts as a significant benchmark for evaluating his seasonal progress. He emphasized that facing off against varied fighting styles augments both his technical prowess and physical capabilities while providing invaluable experience.

Federation officials highlighted that the championship exists to nurture young talent and motivate athletes to develop within the sport. They contend that events like these are essential for cultivating future MMA stars in the UAE and fostering a healthy sporting ethos.

With robust organization, impressive participation, and heightened interest, the UAE National MMA Championship 5 promises an exhilarating weekend. It underscores the nation's commitment to advancing combat sports and encouraging a new era of athletes.
