Toyota Recalls Over 55,000 Vehicles in the U.S. Due to Inverter Connection Issue

Post by : Saif Nasser

Toyota has announced a recall of more than 55,000 vehicles in the United States after a possible manufacturing issue was found in the vehicles’ inverter systems. The recall was confirmed on Tuesday by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

According to regulators, a bolt inside the inverter may not have been tightened correctly during production. This problem can lead to incomplete contact at the inverter terminal. The inverter is an important part of modern vehicles, especially hybrid and electric models, as it helps control and convert electrical power used to run the vehicle.

If the inverter connection is not secure, it could affect how the vehicle performs. In some cases, this may increase the risk of a malfunction while driving. While no widespread accidents or injuries have been reported so far, safety officials say the issue must be fixed to prevent possible future problems.

The recall covers a total of 55,405 vehicles across the United States. Toyota has not yet shared the full list of affected models, but owners of newer vehicles are advised to stay alert for official notifications.

The NHTSA said that Toyota is currently developing a remedy to fix the issue. Once the solution is ready, vehicle owners will be contacted and asked to bring their cars to authorized dealerships for inspection and repair. These repairs are expected to be done at no cost to customers.

Toyota is one of the world’s largest carmakers and has a long history of issuing recalls when safety concerns arise. Industry experts say such recalls, while inconvenient, show the importance of strict safety checks and transparency in the auto industry.

Vehicle owners are encouraged to follow updates from Toyota and the NHTSA and to respond quickly if they receive a recall notice. Addressing the issue early can help ensure driver safety and avoid further complications.
