On Thursday, 28 May, Experience Abu Dhabi is set to introduce a unique poetry activation at Zayed National Museum. This initiative will be conducted in both Arabic and English, designed to immerse visitors in an enriching cultural experience.
Participants are welcomed to engage in personal one-on-one discussions with poets. These interactions will inspire the poets to craft original pieces reflecting the city's essence, its inhabitants, and their narratives. The goal is to translate individual memories and thoughts into artful poetic expressions.
This program is accessible to all—UAE nationals, residents, and visitors alike—underscoring that every story and viewpoint holds significance that can be transformed into poetry.
The initiative forms part of the museum's distinctive The Joy of Eid program, spanning from 27 to 31 May. This five-day event celebrates Eid through various mediums including storytelling, music, craftsmanship, and poetry, providing visitors with immersive cultural encounters throughout the museum's public areas.
Commenting on this initiative, Nassra Al Buainain, Director of Learning & Public Engagement at Zayed National Museum, emphasized poetry's vital role in shaping the UAE’s identity and heritage.
She noted that Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan viewed poetry as a core element of leadership, culture, and national identity. She further stated that gathering individuals to express their thoughts through poetry within the museum embodies his legacy and the UAE's enduring poetic spirit.
