Country music legend Dolly Parton reassured fans about her health, addressing concerns raised after her sister’s recent comments. The 79-year-old singer posted a video on Instagram with a cheerful caption saying, "I ain't dead yet. Do I look sick to you? I'm working hard here," while on the set filming commercials for the Grand Ole Opry.
Parton had recently postponed several Las Vegas shows due to unspecified health issues, prompting worry among her followers. Her sister, Freida Parton, had earlier shared that she had been "up all night praying" for Dolly, which caused some alarm. She later clarified that she did not intend to scare anyone or imply that Dolly’s condition was serious.
In the video, Dolly Parton explained that she had overlooked her own health following the illness and passing of her husband, Carl Dean, in March. She is now consulting doctors to manage some health concerns but emphasized that nothing is life-threatening. "I want you to know I'm OK. I've got some problems ... nothing major. I'm not dying," she said.
Dolly Parton, known for her Grammy-winning music and iconic films like Steel Magnolias, will be receiving an honorary Oscar in November, continuing her celebrated career while addressing her personal health challenges.
