UAE Urges Peace in Sudan, Advocates Ceasefire and Dialogue

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expressed its endorsement of the recent collective statement regarding Sudan, affirming its dedication to fostering a peaceful, democratic, and stable future for the nation, aligned with the aspirations of the Sudanese populace.

The UAE commended the various international and regional initiatives targeting the Sudan crisis, particularly lauding the outcomes from the Berlin Conference that advocated for conflict resolution and the initiation of a political process led by civilians.

Reiterating its commitment, the UAE stressed its unwavering support for efforts aimed at achieving a humanitarian truce and establishing a lasting ceasefire. It underscored the necessity of alleviating humanitarian distress, safeguarding civilians, and ensuring consistent delivery of aid to those impacted by the conflict.

Additionally, the UAE appreciated the Quintet's endeavors to propel a comprehensive political resolution for Sudan, which involved discussions in Addis Ababa from June 3 to June 5 to set up a preparatory committee for inclusive dialogue among Sudanese parties.

Highlighting the crucial need for political solutions, the UAE emphasized the importance of facilitating an independent and inclusive civilian-led transition that mirrors the Sudanese people's aspirations for security, stability, peace, and dignified living.

The UAE reaffirmed its dedication to supporting diplomatic and humanitarian efforts that pave the way for enduring peace and stability in Sudan.
