UAE Enhances Cooperation with ECOWAS as AlShamsi Delivers Credentials

Salem Saeed AlShamsi, the UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, officially submitted his credentials to Dr. Omar Alieu Touray, the President of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), marking his role as the UAE's Permanent Representative to the organization.

After the credentials presentation, discussions took place focusing on enhancing collaboration between the UAE and ECOWAS in various sectors of mutual interest. The dialogue concentrated on forging partnerships with West African nations aimed at promoting sustainable development, economic growth, and regional stability.

Ambassador AlShamsi delivered warm greetings from His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, to Dr. Touray, wishing for ongoing progress and prosperity for ECOWAS and its member states.

Reiterating the UAE's commitment to deeper collaboration with ECOWAS nations, Ambassador AlShamsi emphasized the burgeoning ties between the UAE and various African countries, underscoring the importance of cooperation in critical areas such as investment, trade, and sustainable development.

He highlighted that the UAE's designation as a Permanent Representative to ECOWAS signifies the nation's dedication to enhancing engagement with African regional bodies, which will facilitate stronger partnerships across strategic sectors and foster greater regional development.

Dr. Omar Alieu Touray, in return, welcomed Ambassador AlShamsi, noting the UAE's impressive standing both regionally and internationally.
